The alchemy of tile making
It all starts with ‘bisques’, blank canvases of
moulded clay. It’s what happens next that
dictates the end result: firing temperatures
and frequency; different glazes and how
they react to heat and to each other; hand
painting, screen printing and finishing – this
is tile making at its finest.
